Swell Sculpture Festival inspires, amuses and uplifts and captures the hearts and minds of all who visit.
Experience a wondrous display of over 60 large and small scale works built by distinguished local, national and international artists at the 14th annual Swell Sculpture Festival set amongst the iconic landscape at Currumbin Beach 9 – 18 September, 2016. The free exhibition is open all hours with a selection of sculptures revealing a new verve as they are lit up under the southern sky.
Over 10 days, visitors can experience the intriguing and whimsical sculpted works. This magnificent outdoor gallery presents the occasion to enjoy guided twilight walks and informative artist talks, discover new perspectives at the ‘The Couch’, wander through the Swell Smalls Gallery and participate in artist master classes and children’s’ workshops. The Swell experience extends with festivities such as performance art, music, yoga amongst the sculpture and culinary delights.
If you are just coming for the day you are most welcome to bring a blanket and a packed picnic lunch, sit amongst the sculptures and enjoy the exhibition! The walk is 1km in length so a bottle of water is a good idea for each member of the family. There are several cafes such as Elephant Rock Cafe, The Deck Cafe, Point Restaurant and Bar @ the Rocks Resort and along the sculpture walk the Currumbin Surf Club which is at the southern end of Currumbin Beach.
