This signature event will showcase the scenery and highlights of the region: the Tweed River, Mt Warning (Wollumbin) and the picturesque Tweed Valley. You’re invited to experience four exceptional events that combine a fusion of art, food, nature, music and encapsulate the beauty of the Tweed region.
Pop Up Gallery & Cafe
Visit the Coolamon Cultural Centre at Murwillumbah on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm and share an artistic encounter on the banks for the Tweed River.
There is an exhibition of the finalists in the annual Caldera Art Competition. The entries are focused on the beauty, biodiversity and landscape of the Green Cauldron, the most significant geographical feature of the Tweed Valley. You can have the opportunity to sit in on art classes on the Saturday.
At 2pm on Saturday and Sunday afternoon talks and demonstrations will be hosted by talented local artists.
Entrance to the exhibition, art class and demonstrations are free. Light snacks and refreshments will be available from the Pop-Up-Cafe located at the grounds of the Coolamon Cultural Centre.
Tweed River Lunch Cruise
Saturday 26 0ctober from 12.30 to 3.30pm (DST), the cost is $65.00 and bookings are essential.
Experience the spectacular natural beauty of the Tweed River aboard the Golden Swan, a 100 passenger ferry built in 1971.
Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine on arrival and feast on some of the best local seafood, with salads and tropical fresh fruit from local producers.
Sit back and enjoy the scenery while learning about the marine environment on the Tweed from expert cruise commentators. Sail past lush sugar cane fields, rural farming communities and wild rainforests abundant in wild life.
Dinner at Tweed River Art Gallery
Saturday 26 October from 6.30pm to 10pm (DST), the cost is $95 which includes Gallery Tour, 3 course dinner and beverages and bookings are essential.
The Tweed Fusion gala dinner will be held at Tweed River Art Gallery, celebrating the inaugural event with a menu laden with fresh local Tweed produce, local beers and wines, and entertainment by local artists.
The three course menu has been innovatively designed by renowned foodies from Mavis’ Kitchen, Peter Clarke and Charlie Ebell. Peter and Charlie are well-known in the region for their successful, award winning restaurant Mavis’ Kitchen at the foot of Mount Warning.
